Smoky Mountain Park

Our last virtual trip for the summer was to none other than Smoky Mountain National Park. Located right in our back yard almost, and borders between North Carolina and Tennessee. It is world renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Applachian Mountain Culture. This is America’s most visited national park and to us who live here we know why. This picture was done by Residents by coloring designs and put together to protray what quilts look like.

This park is located in Florida and largest tropical wilderness in the U.S. and largest of any kind east of the Mississippi River. On average, one-million people visit the park each year!

We have started a new tradition here at Spring City. It’s called: the Waffle House Breakfast!
At least once a month, the Residents get to have some favorite breakfast foods. They really enjoy the food and conversation!
Acadia National Park
Cheryl and Patsy have enjoyed the park adventures. Here they are looking out at Acadia National Park. This park is situated on the coast of Maine. The majority of the park’s 47,000 acres sprawls Mount Desert Island. The park is 160 miles from Portland, Maine, and 50 miles from Bangor Maine. The lighthouses are beautiful which is something they enjoyed seeing on the virtual tour we took. Some were printed off for them to color!
Selfie Rocks National Park
Our virtual trip this week was to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park. Located on the shore of Lake Superior in upper peninsula of Michigan, you will find sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, waterfalls, island lakes, deep forest, and wild shoreline.
It is a great place for camping, hiking, and sightseeing. Next week, you find us on another park adventure!
